Serving Our Sisters, Saturday, September 12, 2015, from 10am – 1pm (ET), is a life-changing event that will provide services to women and children from Metro Louisville and in particular, from area shelters.
Services provided are: Free Dental Exams Free Eye Exams Assistance to have their records expunged Information to receive free personal ID’s Free HIV/AIDS testing Nail polishing Free home goods (sheet sets, blankets, towels, washcloths) Free toiletries Free childcare while the women are receiving services
A sit down lunch will be provided to them in an environment that will make them feel special. Session speakers will include: Alderwoman Jessica Green Rescue and Restore (charity that provides assistance to women who have been or are sex trafficked) Ms. Toya Gatewood – former alcoholic and homeless person who regained charge of her life, eventually receiving her master’s degree and now services women who are in recovery.
This event seeks to show women that their past does not have to hold them back from their future, but can actually propel them into it, by providing tools that will help them do that in a safe and supportive environment. Representatives from all TV channels and radio broadcasters are cordially invited to share in this event and to make it a successful one.
