The Suzanne Vitale Clinical Education Complex at WKU will be hosting the annual Special Needs Summit. The Special Needs Summit will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the Knicely Conference Center. The Summit’s theme is “Today’s Vision, Tomorrow’s Reality,” and the target audience consists of parents, caregivers, family members, professionals, staff, and students. The goal of the conference is to connect members of the special needs community with one another, provide valuable information and strategies on working with individuals and children with special needs, and offer information on community resources and services. We have some AMAZING speakers coming to share their expertise with you!

Workshops will be offered to parents, caregivers, professionals, and students on topics relevant to special needs. Topics include:

  • Early Intervention to Improve Gross Motor Development Delays
  • Legal Planning for Protecting Government Benefits Available to Persons with Special Needs
  • Special Needs Financial Planning and Advising
  • Behavior in Schools, a Round Table Discussion

Vendor tables providing information on community resources and services will be available.
