Oct 27 @ 7:00 pm – Oct 28 @ 3:30 pm
"A Pale Horse Rides" Seminar @ Bowling Green Seventh-day Adventist Church | Bowling Green | Kentucky | United States

Christianity is at a crossroads. People are leaving the church at alarming rates—and some even believe that this is the end of the church in our nation. Across the country, people have an uneasy feeling that something is wrong with organized religion today. Are their fears justified? Did something go wrong at the dawn of Christianity? Yes, and the Bible predicted that it would happen. Join us for A Pale Horse Rides to hear the untold stories from the 1,200 years that paved the way for Martin Luther’s Reformation. Watch as biblical prophecy unfolds at the birth of the church and today, and discover the history that may be the best chance for the Church’s future.

This three part series begins Friday night, Oct, 27 at 7:00 p.m. and continues on Saturday, Oct. 28, with sessions at 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Voice of Prophecy speaker, Shawn Boonstra is featured on video for his portion of the presentation.

Join us October 27 from 7-9 pm and October 28, from 9-12:30 am, at Living Hope Baptist Church for the Women of Hope Conference.

“Endless Hope: The Anchor Your Soul Needs”, with author and speaker Liz Curtis Higgs.

Emily Dickinson wrote, “‘Hope’ is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul.” Maybe she pictured a little black-capped chickadee, the state bird of her native Massachusetts. I need more hope than that. I need twelve pounds of bald eagle with seven thousand feathers. The kind of hope that has the power to lift us over the dry plains and barren deserts of our lives.

When we come to the end of ourselves, our plans, our dreams, we finally begin to realize our hope is found only in Jesus. This weekend we’ll meet three women who each had a personal encounter with the Lord. Their stories are amazing. Their lives are inspiring. And the truths they teach us are nothing short of life changing.

Sharing these hope-filled journeys from God’s word, best-selling author and speaker Liz Curtis Higgs will help you discover the utter joy and the absolute peace that Jesus alone provides.

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” Hebrews 6:19

16th Annual Festival of Trains @ Historic Rail Park and Train Museum | Bowling Green | Kentucky | United States

16th Annual Festival of Trains!

What would Christmas be without trains! For centuries, one of America’s favorite Christmas images has been the Christmas Train. The Friends of L&N Depot continue those memories for young and old as they celebrate the sixteenth annual Festival of Trains, December 2nd & 3rd, at the Historic RailPark & Train Museum.

The sHOw Modular Model Railroad Club continues the tradition of showcasing their award winning HO scale exhibit in the main lobby. This model train layout represents the landscape of Kentucky and includes scenes of fall and winter. Various members of the club were responsible for creating and building a section of the layout. When it is all put together, approximately 1000 square feet in size, the model railroad exhibit enthralls you with fascinating miniature scenes.

Club members will be on-site during the event on both days. Anyone interested in learning more about becoming involved with the sHOw Modular Model Train Club is welcome to attend this event and learn more about what club membership is all about.

A collection of different size model exhibits will include the tiny Z scale model train up to the larger S and O scales. This year you will also see a T track layout done in N scale. These models are done in one foot lengths and connected together to make a larger layout. Who knew there were so many sizes of trains?! Thomas the Train model train returns for small rail fans to enjoy, and the O scale Polar Express will be present to thrill young and old alike.

On Saturday and Sunday, extend your railroad experience with a guided tour of the vintage railcars and a self-guided tour of the museum. Purchase a raffle ticket to win a Lionel model train set and receive a 50% admission to the museum and railcar tours!

For unique, one-of-a-kind gifts, the Historic RailPark gift shop has a large assortment of stocking stuffer and gift-giving ideas. We stock a variety of train themed toys for children of all ages. We also offer great books and authentic L&N Railroad merchandise for rail fans. And of course you can get your traditional train set for under the Christmas tree.
