CFR is bringing a first-ever event to the Bowling Green Warren County Regional Airport on Saturday, October 14th—Family Aviation Day. Gates will open at 9:00 a.m. at the airport and admission is free for the duration of the event which ends at 4:00 p.m.

“CFR’s Family Aviation Day is an opportunity for families to enjoy airplane rides around town, eat local food, enjoy kid’s activities, and shop with local vendors,” explains Stephanie Matthews, Community Partnership Coordinator for the non-profit radio ministry and the event.

In plans for the event are rare and novel airplanes for viewing and numerous personal aircraft and pilots providing 15-minute flights around the area for a requested donation of $40 for adults and $25 for children up to 12. Families of 4 or more can fly for less.

The station is collaborating with Turning Point at Sonrise ministry and the Bowling Green Warren County Regional Airport to host the event. Turning Point at Sonrise is an aviation ministry in Westmoreland, TN, that provides flight lessons and other activities for at-risk youth. They are also a Non-Profit Mission Partner with CFR. Of the collaboration with the airport, Dr. Warren Rose, Executive Director of Turning Point at Sonrise said, “We have received wonderful support and guidance from the Board and staff of the [Bowling Green Warren County] airport—it is a phenomenal facility.”
