In the heart of a small, charming village lives a group of makers who create magnificent things and have extraordinary one-on-one relationships with some real-life objects! One of those makers is Theo, an instrument maker and talented musician, who one day finishes creating a mandolin he names Mandy with the sole intention of playing a song on her strings that he has composed specifically for her.
The evening Theo creates her, however, is the same night that she is connived into running away with a handsome stranger, leaving the life Theo could have given her and any sense of purpose behind.
Now far from the instrument maker’s shop, Mandy soon realizes that this handsome stranger has lied to her as she is forced into a life of hardship at the hands of his daughter and wife. Despite Mandy’s pressing problems, she continues to think fondly of the instrument maker and what her life might have been like with him. Will she ever see Theo again? And will she ever discover the purpose for which she has been made?
