When David Smallbone’s successful music company collapses, he moves his family from Australia to the United States in search of a brighter future. With nothing more than their six children, their suitcases, and their love of music, David (for KING + COUNTRY’s Joel Smallbone) and his pregnant wife Helen (Daisy Betts) set out to rebuild their lives from the ground up. Based on a remarkable true story, a mum’s faith stands against all odds; and inspires her husband and children to hold onto theirs.
On April 26th comes the Unsung Hero movie – a true story from the studio of I Can Only Imagine and Jesus Revolution. You won’t want to miss your chance to see this movie in theaters!

Bean & Bailey are coming to Alvaton Church of Christ Saturday, April 27th at 6pm! This is a free event but we are accepting donations to cover the cost of the event. Any donations over the cost of the event will go towards replacing the projector in the auditorium.
Bradley Bean and Jackson Bailey have been performing comedy together professionally for over 20 years. Their show includes stand-up comedy along with musical songs and parodies. Bean and Bailey were part of the first season of America’s Got Talent, and have been featured comedians on Disney Cruise Lines.
Bean and Bailey have shared laughter and the hope of Jesus to hundreds of chuches and faith-based events over the past two decades. Recently their mission expanded beyond just comedy to also include speaking and teaching at faith-based events. Perhaps their favorite audiences are the men and women in addiction recovery centers across the USA where they are invited to speak. According to Bean, “Laughter has the power to bring unity to groups of people, as well as healing to individuals who are hurting.” Bailey states, “I may not be the sharpest spoon in the drawer, but I do know the Bible is true when it says that laughter is a good medicine!

We have a family night coming up (only lasts 15 minutes), @ 4:30PM May 2nd, that you can come to:-) Find a seat in the gym and watch and see what God has accomplished in Kids For Christ sessions. TC Cherry Elementary School, 1001 Liberty Way:-)
Kids For Christ is a 501(c) 3 out of Freeburg, Illinois and began with only 25 students. Today it is all over the region with 72 schools! Kids For Christ offers curriculum, art supplies, t-shirts, bibles, and music to each child in attendance after school. Kids For Christ is available to Kindergarten through 5th Grade at participating schools. Currently only in TC Cherry, but we are looking for teachers/parents who would love this in their school. Currently 140 students attend at TC Cherry Elementary 4 weeks, every Thursday from 3 to 5pm. It’s WONDERFUL!
SPONSORSHIP – there’s always a financial cost, BUT God will move mountains to reach a child! If your heart is tugging at you to sponsor this program, reach out to us at 270-779-2640 and we will plug you in. The program cost to the children is $0.
Of course there are permission slips and approval from the school or board, BUT God is in this program and we want to spread it all over many different schools! We can help and get you in touch with the right people to get this up and going in your school building.
If you’re curious, the family night is a great time to learn more about what Kids For Christ is doing!

Mark your calendars for the 26th annual Stand for Children day on Thursday, June 20th. We, along with other organizations within the area, come together for one day to raise awareness about the needs of and services available for the area children. The event, currently held at the Bowling Green Ballpark, provides fun activities for children while providing information to families and caregivers about the services available to them in our community. Families, summer camps, and child care centers attend free-of-charge. This safe event is a wonderful way to celebrate the younger members of our community as we take a stand for children.
More than 55 vendors (business and organizations) were featured and more than 875 attendees attended last year’s Stand for Children Day! The rain date is set for June 21st. Let’s make this year the best yet!
