DivorceCare is a 13-week video seminar and support group for anyone experiencing separation or divorce. The video seminar features some of the nation’s foremost Christian experts on divorce and recovery topics as seen from a biblical perspective. Seminar sessions include “Facing My Anger”, “Facing My Loneliness”, “New Relationships”, “KidCare” and “Forgiveness”. We meet at First Baptist Church in Bowling Green on Tuesday nights from 6-8 pm, September 3-November 26. There are both male and female facilitators.

1st Annual Scarecrow Contest @ Oakland Christian Church

Open to friends, family, individuals or groups to display a scarecrow with a theme Colors and Fun of Fall. Scarecrow set up October 12 and 13 1-5 pm. No entry fee Public will vote Oct. 14 to Oct 18 4:30 – 8:30 pm and Oct 19 until noon. A festival will be held on Oct. 19 with food, games, fun and live music. Cash prizes along with trophies will be awarded at 4:00 pm on Oct 19. Scarecrows will remain on display until Nov. 2. Team members from across the Catholic Diocese of Owensboro (western KY) will present this overnight, spiritual retreat focused on the resurrection and new life. Care Net 5K Reindeer Run/Walk @ Smothers Park

Come join us for the 5th Annual Care Net Reindeer Run/Walk. This fun event is open to runners and walkers of all types. So grab family members, friends, and co-workers and join the fun as we kick off the Holiday Season!

The race will be a timed event for the purposes of awarding winner divisions. There will also be door prizes and best-dressed awards. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in Christmas attire. Visit with Santa, enjoy hot chocolate, and win prizes.

Reindeer Run entry fee is $25 for an adult and $20 for ages 17 & under. The entry fee also includes a long sleeve t-shirt and entry for door prize drawings. Pre-register by November 11th to be guaranteed a t-shirt. Visit RunSignUp.com for registration details and deadlines.

New this year…The Reindeer Dash (for children 7 and under) is a short dash down the main event strip. Dress your little ones up in Christmas attire and enjoy a fun dash with Santa to the finish line. All little runners will receive their own runner’s bib and winner’s medal at the finish line. The Reindeer Dash has a separate entry fee of $7 and starting time at 9:30 am. Event t-shirts not included.
