Faith Care Outreach

What happens when God asks you to trade comfort and security for complete trust in Him?

Jose Clemente of FaithCare Outreach recently joined Larry to share how one step of obedience led his family from California to Kentucky—and eventually into communities around the world with medical care and the hope of Jesus.

From Comfortable Careers to a Calling

For years, Jose and his wife had successful careers, a home in California, and financial security. From the outside, life looked good. But inside, they both sensed God stirring their hearts toward something more.

Eventually, that stirring became a clear calling: leave their careers, sell their home, move their family across the country to Kentucky, and step into full-time missions.

It wasn’t an easy yes.

Jose shared how following God’s call required them to surrender things that had become sources of security in their lives—comfort, finances, and control. With prayer, they resigned from their jobs, sold their home, and headed to Kentucky without knowing exactly what the next chapter would look like.

They simply trusted that if God was leading, He would provide.

Out of that obedience, FaithCare Outreach was born.

Caring for the Body While Pointing to the Great Physician

FaithCare Outreach is a medical mission organization that partners with local churches to provide medical, dental, and optical care to communities around the world.

But as Jose explained to Larry, the mission is about much more than meeting physical needs.

At every clinic, the team wants each person they serve to have an opportunity to hear and understand the Gospel in their own language. Their ultimate goal is to point people to Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, who heals, restores, and gives eternal life.

Jose and his family didn’t begin this journey with experience running a nonprofit or organizing medical missions. Instead, they learned to depend on God one step at a time.

Their story is a powerful picture of what can happen when we’re willing to say yes before we know all the details.

More Than 500 Professions of Faith in Year One

God has already opened incredible doors through FaithCare Outreach.

In its first year, the organization conducted 24 medical and optical clinics across five countries. Through those clinics, more than 4,000 people heard the Gospel, and more than 500 professions of faith were witnessed.

And the ministry doesn’t simply enter a community, provide care, and leave.

Every clinic is conducted in partnership with a local church so that people can continue to receive spiritual support, discipleship, and connection to the body of Christ after the FaithCare team returns home.

FaithCare has also worked alongside ministries including Kendall Ministries, Helping Honduras Ministry, The Luke Society, World Reach, Reaching and Teaching, Publick Preaching Ministry, and Central Baptist Independent Mission.

Partnerships with organizations including the Lions Club, Love and Warden Optometrists, and Global Vision 2020 have helped strengthen the ministry’s optical outreach through donated eyeglasses, equipment testing, training, and other resources.

An Opportunity to Go

For Jose, missions isn’t something reserved for people who have all the right experience or feel completely prepared. His own family’s story began by simply being willing to follow where God was leading.

Now, FaithCare Outreach is giving others the opportunity to step into that mission too.

Their next scheduled mission trip is to Copán, Honduras, November 19–23, 2026, where volunteers will once again have the opportunity to meet practical needs, serve alongside local churches, and share the hope of Christ.

Jose’s conversation with Larry is a reminder that we may not always know what waits on the other side of obedience. Sometimes God simply asks us to take the next step, trust Him with what we’re leaving behind, and watch what He can do with our yes.
