CFR Sanctity of Human Life Week

Sunday- Friday, Jan. 17th-22nd

Starting Sunday Jan. 17th 5:00pm-6:00pm join us for special programming in honor of Sanctity of Human Life Sunday.

Listen all week for stories of God at work through our communities’ pregnancy centers, adoptive and foster families, legislators, and elder-care facilities.

Sharing the transforming truth that EVERY life has value.

On January 13, 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation designating January 22 as the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day. January 22, 1973 was the day the U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion-on-demand in all 50 states. Churches around the United States use the third Sunday in January as Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, to celebrate God’s gift of life, commemorate the many lives lost to abortion, and commit themselves to protecting human life at every stage.

“A Change of Heart: One Woman’s Journey from Planned Parenthood to Pro-Life”

Sunday, January 17 5:00-5:30pm central time

“I actually saw an ultrasound-guided abortion procedure, and what I saw on the  screen was a 13-week baby fighting for its life. I had flashes in my head of my own daughter and I was thinking ‘what am I doing?'” – Abby Johnson reflecting on her change of heart from Planned Parenthood employee to pro-life advocate.

Brad Mattes of Life Issues Institute interviewed Abby weeks after she left the abortion industry and heard her testimony first-hand. In light of the renewed focus on her powerful story, CFR is pleased to air an encore presentation of the 2010 radio special created from it, A Change of Heart.

“We Will Be Their Voice: The New Pro-Life Generation”

Sunday, January 17 at 5:30-6pm central time

Brad Mattes from Life Issues Institute gives an inside view of one of the pro-life movement’s greatest assets—students who are passionate about the sanctity of life! As you listen, you’ll be encouraged to know that there are thousands of high schoolers and collegiates who are deeply committed to the pro-life message. In a day where you might think otherwise, Brad interviews students who provide assurance that there are young people who are not afraid to counter the popular cultural message that denies the sanctity of every human life. CFR hopes this radio special will be a catalyst for mobilizing local student efforts on behalf of life issues, assuring that the future of the pro-life movement is secure!
