Exciting Update – CFR Wins KBA’s 2025 Station of the Year! 🎉

Bowling Green, KY – September 15, 2025 – Christian Family Radio (CFR) is honored to announce that it has been named “Station of the Year” by the Kentucky Broadcasters Association (KBA) at the annual Excellence in Broadcasting Awards, held at the Owensboro Convention Center on Sunday, September 14.

This top honor highlights CFR’s unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality programming while making a lasting positive impact on the community. The “Station of the Year” award recognizes excellence in every area of broadcasting.

Larry Castro, CFR’s Assistant Program Director & Host of “Afternoons with Larry”, attended the awards dinner and accepted the award on behalf of the entire team.

“As the newest member of the CFR team, it was an incredible honor to accept this award on our behalf. Hearing our name called was unforgettable, but even more meaningful was knowing I get to serve alongside the best team in Kentucky.”

“We are humbled and grateful to be recognized as KBA’s Station of the Year,” said Bridget Kehrt-Groce, Executive Director. “Every day, we’re thankful for the opportunity to do what we love. We believe media has the power to strengthen communities and bring people closer together. For nearly 40 years, our listeners have been nothing short of amazing.”

Christian Family Radio has been serving South Central Kentucky and beyond since 1986. The media ministry remains committed to serving the community with purpose and passion. In addition to inspiring music, CFR features programs like Focus on the Family, interviews with CCM artists, conversations with regional leaders, and stories from local non-profits.

This 2025 “Station of the Year” win adds to a growing list of accolades, including KBA’s own “Station of the Year” in 2021, Bowling Green Daily News “Best Local Radio Station” in 2023 and 2024, and “Best Radio Personality” for Derek Gregory in 2024.
