Light a Spark with For King & Country!

Our friends for KING + COUNTRY recently shared the story behind their newest song “World On Fire” which will be released on October 3, 2025.

While in Oxford, England, Joel and Luke visited a small monument honoring Hugh Latimer and Nicholas Ridley, two men who gave their lives for their faith. Before they were burned at the stake, Latimer turned to Ridley and said:

“I hope today, by God’s grace, we will light a fire that will never, ever go out.”

That moment sparked a powerful reminder that we all have an inner spark. The question is: how bright is it burning in our city?

At Christian Family Radio, we’re committed to being a daily source of inspiration in South Central Kentucky. This initiative is a personal reminder of our core mission: to ignite hope and shine the light of Jesus throughout our community every single day.

Here are 10 simple ways we can light a spark in your city:

  1. Pray for your city: Lift up leaders, schools, and families in Bowling Green, Glasgow, & Owensboro.
  2. Encourage someone: A kind text, note, or word can change a person’s entire day.
  3. Help a neighbor: Offer a meal, mow a lawn, or lend a hand where it’s needed.
  4. Volunteer locally: Give your time at a shelter, school, or community program. Lights shine brighter together.
  5. Reach out to an old friend: Call or message someone you haven’t connected with in a while just to check in.
  6. Choose joy in tough moments: A smile or patient response can spark joy in someone’s day.
  7. Give generously: Whether it’s money, clothes, food, or a kind word, every gift counts.
  8. Listen well: Sometimes the spark someone needs most is simply being heard.
  9. Share hope: Through faith, music, or by simply showing up, your voice can spark hope.
  10. Pay it forward: Teach your kids, friends, or coworkers what it means to light a spark in this world.

The fire Latimer spoke of hundreds of years ago still burns today, through people willing to shine where they are. That same spark can keep glowing in Kentucky through you!

This is just the beginning.

Together, Let’s Set the “World On Fire”
